The beekeeping association “Bee” from Tešnj, with the co-organization of the Women’s Association and the support of the Municipality and the Zenica-Doboj Canton, organized the 16th fair of honey, jam and fruit delicacies, eco-herbs and ethno-craftsmanship in this town. More than 50 exhibitors from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina were presented, most of them honey producers.
Even though the fair has a rich offer again this year, especially honey and bee products, the beekeepers do not hide that this year promised more than it delivered.
“The year was lean, even though we drove bees left and right, it was very thin,” says Zijad Zečević, a beekeeper from Kotorsko near Doboj.
“This year we had a little more hope. But those who are humble are happy and content. And it’s a good year, average. If it were like this more often, it would be better”, says Mahmo Husibegović, president of the Beekeepers Association “Pčela” Tešanj.
In addition to honey and other bee products, natural juices, jams, marmalade, handicrafts, pottery, handicrafts, herbal preparations, medicinal plants and natural cosmetics were exhibited at the two-day fair in Tešanj.
“Every year, more and more people are becoming aware of natural cosmetics and natural products. Even children are my young future customers”, emphasizes Gordana Antolović, natural cosmetics manufacturer from Žepče.
In addition to registered small farms and crafts, numerous women’s associations also exhibit at the fair.
“For the first time, we came out, joined forces and are presenting what we have done in the past eight months,” says Merima Islamović, president of the Women’s Association “Fontana” from Maglaj.
This year, the fair was financially supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of ZDK.
“We should strive to support our organic domestic production, and this is exactly what fairs like this are and where our domestic products are exhibited,” said Jasmin Čajić, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the ZDK.
Although the fair has grown into a review of healthy food products, eco-herbs and ethnic creativity, it was originally conceived, not without reason, as a fair of meetings and exchange of experiences.
“The least is sales and other things. This is pure socializing. We are here together, we get to know each other, we socialize”, says the honey producer from Doboj-Jugo, Sabahudim Krličević.
During the fair, prizes were awarded to the most successful exhibitors, Federalna writes.
