The House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH adopted the Law on Banks

parliamentDelegates of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH adopted a Law on Banks, which will enter into force on the eighth day of publication in the “Official Gazette of BiH”.

The provisions of the Act that were adopted are in accordance with EU directives and they include stronger supervision of banks, risk management system, the restructuring of banks and other terms of corporate governance in banks.

The Law on Banks, with the recently adopted Law on the Banking Agency of FBiH, will establish a legal framework for the restructuring of banks in the FBiH, and its implementation should lead to a more modern banking sector.

Delegates also gave the opinion on the Draft Law on the Transport of Dangerous Goods and on more information and reports including the information on the security situation in the FBiH for the last year.

On the agenda of the 18th session, which started on the 9th of February, is also a Document on framework budget of FBiH for the period 2017-2019.

Upon completion of this, maintenance of the 19th session is planned as well, at which delegates would declare on the program of work of the Government of FBiH for this year.
