How functional is Prosecutorial Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina during Pandemic?

The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Gordana Tadić, participated in the meeting of Chief Prosecutors from the level of BiH, both entities and the Brčko District of BiH, as well as of police agency officers, within the Strategic Forum being implemented within the HJPC BiH project.

The meeting discussed the functioning of the prosecutorial community in BiH, which has about 380 prosecutors at all levels, and work with partner police agencies, within the situation caused by the COVID 19 pandemic.

One of the conclusions of the meeting is that prosecutorial and police institutions acted responsibly and professionally in protecting the safety of citizens, ensuring compliance with health and safety measures, as well as prosecuting illegalities and criminal offences committed during the pandemic situation, as well as criminal offences committed by exploited the emergency situation caused by the COVID pandemic 19.

The meeting was held through video-teleconferencing from several locations and cities in BiH within the project of Strengthening Prosecutorial Capacities, which is being implemented by the HJPC of BiH.

The participants of the meeting discussed the measures taken to ensure that the prosecutor’s offices in our country, together with the police, are operational in urgent situations and within short deadlines, and also discussed the activities carried out with a view to restoring the functioning of the prosecutorial and police-community to regular capacities in line with the development of the pandemic situation.
