According to statistics, 617 super-rich people live in BiH. Of that number, research has shown that 92 are multimillionaires whose wealth amounts to little over ten billion BAM.
According to international standards and methodology, this category includes every individual whose wealth exceeds the amount of 30 million US dollars. What is interesting is that the number of multimillionaires in BiH is growing – in 2012 there were 65 of them, and in 2015 their number increased to 92, and according to all estimations, at the end of this year their number will exceed 100!
In a country of general poverty such as BiH, the fact that the savings of citizens in commercial banks are growing sounds almost unbelievable. The amount of savings already exceeded ten billion BAM. No less interesting is the data that 525 millionaires live in BiH as well. This category includes citizens who have one million BAM or more on their accounts in commercial banks in BiH.
According to the present situation, the best answer to the question how is there so many millionaires and multimillionaires in a land of poverty where corruption and organized crime flourish, and generally who generated this enormous wealth and in which way, can be given by the prosecution and the courts.
