Republika Srpska će nastaviti da slavi Dan Republike i ni jedan sud joj ne može oduzeto to pravo, poručio je Milorad Dodik, predsjednik Republike Srpske danas obraćajući se na svečanoj akademiji "Zavjet slobode" u Sportskoj dvorani "Borik" povodom Dana i krsne slave Republike Srpske - Svetog arhiđakona i prvomučenika Stefana. Celebration of the unconstitutional Day of Republika Srpska (RS) in the smaller B&H entity cost, according to some estimates, as much as 200,000 BAM. The costs were, of course, “settled” from the entity budget.

Thus, after January 9 population in RS will wake up with an even larger minus and without any announcements that they will live better soon. Authorities in RS have once again shown that, despite of the difficult financial situation of both the entity and the citizens which live in it, they do not care much about it and they behave as if everyone is living in prosperity. However, everyone knows that situation is quite the opposite – a large number of citizens lives in extreme poverty.

And while politicians in the RS organize celebrations violating decisions of the Constitutional Court of B&H, population in the smaller B&H entity is increasingly unsatisfied, as much as for increasingly common stories about corruption and criminal within the authorities as for the fact that pensions are still very low (and barely sufficient for survival), as well as wages (average net wage in November 2015 amounted to 824 BAM), while the debt in RS is measured in billions of BAM (the public debt of RS is larger than four billion BAM and grows every day).

While the authorities celebrate, despite all these disappointing data and facts, there are 135,000 unemployed citizens in the RS who are certainly not in the mood for celebration.

Taking everything into consideration, the question rightfully arises – until when will the regime in the RS survive on all sorts of empty stories and populist and more than expensive ceremonies which, in an environment they created, represent plain insolence? Thousands of people with minimum pensions and low wages are behind their necks, as well as those who cannot find a job no matter what they try and do. The question is, who will give in first – their neck or people’s shoulders?
