transversalBased on a detailed analysis of the Construction Institute of the Sarajevo Canton, it was determined that part of the First transversal at section from Kranjceviceva Street to Hotonj, with the total length of 5.08 kilometers, will cost more than 215 million BAM.

Cost estimations were done separately for each subsection, and they refer to the approximate cost of construction works and resolving of the property and legal issues. Thus, the costs of preparing the construction land will amount to 51 million BAM.

On the section from Kranjceviceva Street to Velesici will be needed over 22 million BAM for resolving of the property and legal issues, from Velesici to Bar 14.6 million BAM, from Bar to the tunnel Kobilja Glava 825,000 BAM, for the tunnel Kobilja Glava 7.7 million BAM and from the exit of the tunnel to the village Hotonj 6.4 million BAM.

As for the cost of construction works from Kranjceviceva Street to Velesici, for a length of 0.76 kilometers will be required 23.4 million BAM. The section from Velesici to Bar is 1.42 kilometers long, and it will cost more than 24 million BAM. The section from Bar to tunnel Kobilja Glava is 1.28 kilometers long, and it will cost around 27.6 million BAM.

The most demanding section will be tunnel Kobilja Glava, in the length of 0.72 kilometers, which will cost more than 63 million BAM. The section from the exit of the tunnel Kobilja Glava to Hotonj is 0.90 kilometers long, and it will require 19.4 million BAM.

After the Government of CS analyzes cost estimations by the Ministry of Transport CS, it will be decided which of the five sub-sections will be constructed first. Some of the funds will be also required for the relocation of utility installations.

Government of CS will most likely analyze the report of the Construction Institute of CS at the next session.

Sarajevo First Transversal has a role to connect North longitudinal (at Railway station) with a future city highway (in Velesici) and finally with Vogosca, with a connection to the A1 highway.

Replacement facilities within the land expropriation should be built in Sip. It is important to emphasize that the funds for expropriation of land must not be provided by loan funds.

First transversal will be categorized as a main road, and its construction will greatly relieve urban traffic, which is why everyone eagerly awaits the beginning of construction works.
