gold_projekatThe joint US-Swedish project of improving local development (GOLD) begins cooperation with the FB&H Employment Service, with the goal to create more than 400 new jobs and the economic development of local communities in B&H.

David Barth, Director of USAID Mission in B&H, Nataša Miskin, on behalf of the Swedish Embassy in B&H and Kenan Rešo, Director of the FB&H Employment Service, will sign in Sarajevo today a Memorandum of Understanding.

During the signing of the Memorandum, concrete projects will be announced, whose launching is expected to create more than 400 jobs in the textile, automobile, electrical and chemical industries, in Visoko, Vogošća, Konjic, Olovo and Zavidovići.

In addition, the start of cooperation with a governmental agency for employment will be another chance for the promotion of USAID’s support to civic initiatives that monitor the spending of budget funds and require transparency of public institutions.

Representatives of the companies that would employ new people, mayors of municipalities from which the companies come, and representatives of regional and local development agencies will attend the signing.
