The Communications Regulatory Agency (RAK) reminds all providers of audiovisual media services and radio media services of the obligation to observe the election silence period immediately preceding the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, scheduled for October 4.

Article 16.11 of the Election Law of BiH stipulates that, during the 24 hours prior to the opening of polling stations—when the election silence period begins across the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina—media reporting on any activity related to political and election campaigns is prohibited.

The election silence period begins at 07:00 on October 3 and lasts until the polling stations close.

RAK also draws attention to Article 16.10 of the Election Law of BiH, which mandates that no public opinion poll results regarding voting and the elections may be published during the period starting 48 hours before the opening of polling stations and continuing until they close.

The ban on publishing public opinion poll results takes effect at 07:00 on October 2 and remains in force until the polling stations close, the Communications Regulatory Agency announced.
