How to get funding from the EU Programme Creative Europe?

Cultural operators, film workers and representatives of small and medium enterprises operating in the film sector in Banja Luka had an opportunity to attend a two day workshop on writing project proposals and receiving funds from the EU programme Creative Europe.

“Creative Europe connects associations and enterprises with similar organisations from all over Europe, thus strengthening the capacities of organisations to prepare quality applications in the face of large competition. It is necessary to network, have good partners from other countries and together develop ideas that will produce concrete results, innovative methods and competent people involved in implementation,” said Marko Paunović, an EU project consultant from Brussels.

Creative Europe consists of two sub-programmes: Culture and MEDIA. As part of the MEDIA sub-programme, BiH cultural and film professionals, companies and associations have an opportunity to access funds made available through Creative Europe, and the entire audio-visual and multimedia sector of the country has an opportunity to enjoy increased growth, but also to be more successful in promoting and representing local organisations and individuals on the international scene.

The MEDIA sub-programme is aimed at representatives of the film industry – producers, film festivals, and creators of video games and TV productions. While Bosnia and Herzegovina has the creative potential to position its film industry on the European map, film professionals require assistance in writing projects and obtaining funding.

A part of the Creative Europe programme is preservation, development and promotion of European cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as European cultural heritage. Other aspects of the programme relate to support to cultural organisations for professional development, promotion of international artistic exchange, art works and cultural professionals, financial strengthening of small and medium enterprises, and support to international cultural policies that support innovations, increase audience reach and foster new business models in culture.

Creative Europe is the framework EU programme aimed at supporting and financing projects in the cultural and audio-visual sectors with an overall budget of 1.46 billion euros for the period 2014-2020.
