Residents of Banja Luka will enter the New Year with songs of Zeljko Samardzic and Nikola Rokvic and the fun of New Year’s Holidays will not last for only one night.

The night before the New Year, the atmosphere will be warmed up by Haris Dzinovic, and the first day in 2019, Zeljko Joksimovic.

“Program for the New Year in Banja Luka will be the best program in the region, and we can say that Banja Luka will be a regional center for three nights, promising excellent performers,” Banja Luka mayor Igor Radojicic said, adding that team worked hard to arrange the famous musicians to sing in Banja Luka.

It is already difficult to find a hotel accommodation for New Year’s Holidays in Banja Luka and according to booking.com, some hotels are already fully booked while others have very few free rooms.

New Year’s celebration is promoted under the motto “Banja Luka calls you”.

Last year, Lukijan Ivanovic, Nikola Rokvic and Leksington band performed and an open-air concert was attended by about 20,000 people. All accommodation facilities in the city were filled, and the Banja Luka Tourist Board had a large number of applications from tourists who were unable to reserve accommodation.

Zeljko Samardzic is a Serbian folk singer popular throughout the former Yugoslav republics. Born in Mostar, he reached fame only after the Bosnian War when he fled to Belgrade, Serbia, where he since lives and works.

He first started singing during high school, and soon became known around Mostar for being a good Kemal Monteno impersonator.

Samardžić’s musical activity during this period was essentially little more than a hobby as he did not put out any official releases and mostly sang in restaurants in addition to competing in the occasional obscure festival.

Nikola Rokvic is a Serbian singer, a son of a famous singer Marinko Rokvic. His debut album was released on March 16, 2006. Until today, he has released three albums. His biggest hit is the song ‘Med i slatko grozde’.
