HR Schmidt: Every Citizen must feel safe in every Corner of this Country

Every citizen must feel safe in every corner of this country. It is up to the law enforcement bodies to provide a safe and secure environment,” said the High Representative Christian Schmidt, commenting on the most recent attack against the Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Mostar.

“I expect a swift investigation and prosecution of those responsible for this horrendous and shameful attack. I also call upon responsible institutions to present to the public their findings about this and other attacks that occurred this year,” said Schmidt.

He expressed his full support to the clergy and Orthodox believers in Mostar who are a tightly interwoven part of the fabric of this city. Local authorities must undertake all necessary measures to stop acts of vandalism in Mostar.

“Instead, this city should represent what is best in BiH – tolerance, mutual respect, and prosperity for all its citizens,” said Schmidt, announced the OHR.
