HR Schmidt mentioned BiH only once during his Address at the Munich Conference

The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, spoke on the sidelines of the Munich Conference, but did not use the opportunity to speak about Bosnia and Herzegovina or the negative influence of Russia or neighboring countries on our country.

At the beginning of his address, Schmidt thanked the organizers of the conference in Munich and jokingly said that “good old Bavaria is not such a bad place” to be staying there now.

For most of the presentation, Schmidt thanked those present, first and foremost the Swedish Minister of Defense, Pal Jonsson, as well as the Commander of the US Ground Forces for Europe and Africa, General Christopher Cavoli.

The High Representative expressed his regret that he cannot be present in Munich every day of the conference because he has to be in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“In Bosnia and Herzegovina, we are taking some steps forward towards European integration and maybe in the future also on the way to NATO”, Schmidt said, which was the only mention of our country in his address.

He went on to talk about the security challenges that await Europe and about the war, which is not only a matter of Ukraine.

“I think most Germans are now able to tell you what a howitzer is for and what its capacity should be. This damn war is not just a war focused on Ukraine, it can spread all over Europe and that’s why we have to resist and work all together,” said Schmidt.

The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina went on to say that he was glad that the Munich Conference had evolved from an American-German meeting into an event involving the whole of Europe, but he did not look back at Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor at the problems our country is facing, Klix.ba reports.
