High Representative Christian Schmidt visited the Srebrenica –Potocari Memorial Center yesterday.

On this occasion, Schmidt spoke with the director of the Memorial Center, Emir Suljagic, the chairman of the Management and Organizational Board, Hamdija Fejzic, and the staff about preparations for marking the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.

The meeting also addressed the current working conditions at the Memorial Center.

“The work of the Srebrenica – Potocari Memorial Center is important for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The international community will ensure that this important work continues in a safe environment. It is also important to note that the Memorial Center serves the common future of all people in BiH. Those who strive for the future must first confront their history,” emphasized the High Representative.
