World famous violinist Stefan Milinković will have today at the National Theater in Sarajevo a concert of humanitarian character, organized within the program of Festival “Baščaršijske noći”.
Milenković will perform accompanied by Srebrenka Poljak in piano, and art pieces of L. van Beethoven, C. Saint-Saëns, H. Wieniawskog and M. Ravel will be part of the program.
All the funds raised from the ticket sales will be donated for the Red Cross B&H to help people affected by floods in May.
Stefan Milenković at yesterday’s press conference said that he is glad to be in Sarajevo, although this time not for a nice reason. Anyway, he thinks that disasters often connect people.
“Life is still not normal for all those who has been affected by floods, nor will be for 2 or 3 year. The most important is that they receive what is most necessary for them”, he said.
Presenting today’s concert, Milinković thinks that every classical program has to be educational but also popular and is just such a concept that he chose for Sarajevo concert as well.
Srebrenka Poljak said that already two months ago when they received information about the floods immediately decided to have a concert in Sarajevo of a humanitarian character, and hopes for a greater response from the audience that the help to be as bigger as possible.
Secretary General of the Red Cross Association of B&H Branko Leko thanked “Sarajevo Arts”, the organizer of the concert and festival “Baščaršijske noći” and Milenković and Poljak for the decision that in this way to help people who are affected by floods in B&H.
Boxes for donation will be set at the concert and so far from the sales of tickets are collected around 6.500 BAM.
The concert starts at 20:00.
