The humanitarian “Race for Life” in the organization of the Olympic Center Jahorina and Open Network will be held on February 24th on Jahorina Mountain.

President of the Open Network Almir Čehajić Batko said that the goal of the humanitarian tournament is saving of four children, including the girl Merjem Bašić. He pointed out that the girl Merjem needs an emergency surgery costing at least 39,000 euros and that she has traveled to Turkey yesterday where she should be operated.

“Our decision was to move Maerjem to Turkey” because for several days she felt unbearable pain, because nothing could be done in BiH. We want Merjem to return healthy to BiH,” explained Batko.

He pointed out that the Open Network is not a humanitarian organization, but a “corrector of authority in power” and called on all people who would help Merjem and other ill children to come to Jahorina on Sunday.

Jahorina’s Executive Director Iva Ivkic said that the registration fee is 20 BAM, and that those interested can apply for two categories, children and adults.

Emphasizing the race’s humanity, she added that they had prepared valuable awards for the winners.

A humanitarian action can be supported by calling 17030 and 17050, donating 2 BAM.
