Hundreds of Chimney Sweeps attracted the Attention of Passers-by in Sarajevo

Hundreds of chimney sweeps from Europe gathered yesterday at the Eternal Flame in Sarajevo, from where they paraded through Ferhadija to Bascarsija and – we hope – brought happiness to everyone who saw them.

As part of the first World Chimney Sweep Festival, several hundred chimney sweeps from the country, the region, and the world gathered two days ago at Bascarsija Square.

This unique event is organized by the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo and the Association of Chimney Sweeps of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

The event represents an opportunity to promote the importance of the chimney sweep profession and its contribution to the preservation of the environment and the protection of people’s health, but primarily for the promotion of tourism and tourist potential and the rich offer of the Stari Grad Municipality.

Apart from our country, chimney sweeps from Croatia, Serbia, Germany, England, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, and other countries also came to the festival.

Special attention was drawn by the youngest chimney sweeps.

Two days ago, the president of the Chimney Sweep Association, Mirza Ekmecic, thanked everyone who helped realize this idea and hold the event. Ekmecic also added that he hopes that all those who came from other countries will enjoy Sarajevo and take away memories from Stari Grad and BiH, Klix.ba reports.
