A five-year-old Palestinian boy died in Adana, Turkey, due to complications arising from malnutrition and the delay of his medical care, Palestinian media and activists reported.
The media reported that Abdullah Abu Zarqa was visibly malnourished before his death because of the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip, and his condition quickly worsened due to delays in medical evacuation.
In a video shared online weeks before his death, the five-year-old made an appeal: “I am hungry,” while the Israeli hunger campaign further worsened the level of hunger and malnutrition in the enclave.
Munir al-Barsh, director general of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, reported three more deaths caused by malnutrition in Gaza.
This has raised the total number of hunger-related deaths in Gaza to 266, including 122 children, the ministry states.
