Vaccination against the corona virus begins in the Brcko District today, and the vaccines will be the first to be received by health workers, said the head of the Department for Health and Other Services of the District Government, Sead Sadic.

He specified that the first to be vaccinated will be health workers in triage and covid clinics, surgical and wards where covid patients are accommodated, as well as other health workers.

Sadic pointed out that the vaccination of health workers will be organized in the Health Center, that there will be enough doses for all of them, and that then the immunization will begin in nursing homes as well.

“The Department of Health and Other Services has made four vaccination points in the Youth Center, which will be available to citizens after the completion of the first phase of vaccination. We will be able to vaccinate at least 160 people a day, “Sadic explained.

He noted that 1,170 doses of “Pfizer” vaccines and 700 doses of “Astra Zeneca” vaccines, which were procured through the “Covax” system, arrived in the district, and that vaccines donated by Turkey should arrive this week.

“Through the Covax system, we procured 32,000 doses. We are still missing some 50,000 doses, and we have already initiated activities with the entities and suppliers to procure the missing doses through direct procurement, “said Sadic.

He added that about 1,800 more doses of vaccines procured through the “Covax” system should be delivered to the district on April 22.

“All citizens who want to be immunized can call the free info number, which will be activated on Thursday, April 1, and based on the survey they pass, an updated list will be made and they will be invited for vaccination,” Sadic pointed out, Srna news agency writes.
