The fifth Eco Drina Regatta set off from Modran near Ustikolina, with nearly 550 boats sailing down the Drina River towards Gorazde. The number of participants eager to enjoy the scenic voyage on one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe continues to grow each year.

More than 60 boats were required to accommodate all those interested in the Drina Regatta, as the number of people wanting to experience this unique event, a river ride, and the “battle” with Drina’s rapids increases every year.

“Beside the Drina, you don’t feel this heat wave; it’s perfectly cool, and we must preserve its beauty for future generations. The regatta is fantastic, so many people in one place, great company, and the river is beautiful, a real pleasure,” says Amila, one of the regatta participants.

The largest group at the regatta was from the Mountaineering Society “Zlatni ljiljan” from Sarajevo, which participates in all actions aimed at nature conservation and protection.

“There are 58 of us in today’s regatta, and we are truly thrilled. We have a beautiful day, good people around us, and everything you could wish for at such an event. Our mission is to preserve nature; we work for it, we fight for it, and we will always support these and similar actions,” said Zakir Sogolj yesterday, the society’s secretary.

“We are thrilled that more and more people want to be part of our mission; our goal from the beginning has been to promote the best of what Gorazde has to offer. The Eco Drina Regatta is an excellent opportunity recognized by numerous participants who will enjoy an entire day of sailing on the Drina,” says Dzenis Culov, the organizer of this attractive event.

Culov adds that this year’s regatta has gathered by far the largest number of participants, who will also enjoy a unique gastronomic offer, and that the interest has exceeded expectations, n1 writes.
