In 12 years, the Montenegrin police confiscated almost 27 tons of different drugs (cannabis, heroin, cocaine and synthetic drugs).

These are the data of the Global Initiative for Combating Transnational Organized Crime (GI/TOC) obtained from the Ministry of the Interior of Montenegro, for the period from 2010 to 2022.

According to these data, the most drugs were seized in 2021, 4.7 tons.

In August 2021, Budimir and Marina Krstović were arrested, in whose warehouse in Zeta 1.2 million cocaine was found. In December 2021, the prosecution filed an indictment against Krstović, and on July 21 this year, the court emphasized that the prosecution did not provide any evidence that the accused Krstović procured cocaine, and an acquittal was pronounced.

Last year, half a ton of cocaine, 1.8 tons of cannabis and several kilograms of cocaine and synthetic drugs were seized.

The least amount of narcotics, only 200 kilograms, was seized in 2015.

At that time, the MUP was headed by Raško Konjević, and the director of the Police Administration was Slavko Stojanović.

The former director of the Police Administration, Slavko Stojanović, was arrested on November 18 this year on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of abuse of office and smuggling.

The Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) accuses him of facilitating the smuggling of cigarettes, Fena reports.
