In 2018 the Total Number of Cattle decreased by 1,6%

In 2018 the total number of cattle decreased by 1,6%, of sheep by 0,4%, of pigs by 1,1%, of horses by 12,5%, of poultry by 2,2% and of beehives by 0,5% compared to the same period of 2017. In the same period the total number of goats remained on the same level.

In 2018 the total production of cow’s milk decreased by 0,4%, ewe’s milk by 5,7% and goat’s milk by 3,2% in relation with the same period of 2017. Total production of wool decreased by 1,0% and of eggs by 0,8%, while the production of honey increased by 51,5% in relation with the same period of 2017.

According to BiH Agency for Statistics, in November 2018, the number of slaughtered cattle decreased by 26,41% and pigs by 11,97%, while the number of slaughtered sheep increased by 22,26% and poultry by 2,88% in relation with the same period of 2017.

According to data from BiH Agency for Statistics, the net weight of slaughtered cattle decreased by 30,60%, of slaughtered pigs by 10,75% and of slaughtered poultry by 0,10%, while the net weight of slaughtered sheep increased by 18,33% in relation with the same period of 2017.

The data on the slaughter of livestock and poultry are the result of the aggregation of comparable the data from monthly statistical surveys conducted Entity institutes for statistics and by the Bureau in Brcko District.

Data on legal entities and parts of legal entities are submitting data based on book-keeping, whereas for entrepreneurs abattoirs data are given from approved municipal (veterinarian – inspection) department at the basis of available evidence.
