Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that “not a single civilian was killed in the Gaza City of Rafah”, where thousands of Palestinians were killed.
Netanyahu gave a speech that lasted about an hour to a joint session of Congress at the invitation of the leaders of the US Congress.

Claiming that the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas were similar to the attacks on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and the attacks on the US in 2001, Netanyahu thanked US President Joe Biden for supporting Israel in the Gaza attacks and saying that ” a proud Zionist”.

Netanyahu claimed that reports of civilians being killed in Gaza were “lies”.

“Despite all the lies you hear, Gaza is the place where the casualties of non-combatant civilians are the least in the history of urban wars compared to the losses of those who fight,” claimed the Israeli prime minister.

He said he was in Rafah last week and met with Israeli army commanders.

Netanyahu, as he said, asked how many civilians were killed. He received, he stated, the answer that “there was only one incident in which shrapnel from a bomb hit armed Hamas personnel and therefore twenty people were unintentionally killed.” He claimed to have received a reply that “no civilian was killed outside the incident”.

Netanyahu told members of Congress that Israel was making great efforts to protect civilians in Gaza and claimed that Hamas was responsible for civilian deaths. The Israeli prime minister claimed that they “allowed more than 40,000 trucks of humanitarian aid to pass into Gaza”.

“If there are Palestinians in Gaza who cannot get enough food, it is not because Israel is preventing it, but because Hamas is stealing from them,” Netanyahu said.

It is interesting that Netanyahu received a long standing ovation from members of the US Congress at the end of each sentence during his speech, which lasted about an hour, AA writes.
