In less than 24 Hours, Money was collected for the Treatment of two-year-old Boy

The humanitarian organization Pomozi.ba announced that in less than 24 hours, money was collected for the treatment of two-year-old Hamza Cucukovic from Vogosca.

On Monday, this humanitarian organization launched an action to collect money, i.e. 19,000 euros – how much is needed for the treatment of Hamza in Istanbul. They thanked all those who contributed to the spread of their appeal and/or those who paid money.

Hamza has 20 epileptic seizures a day and can’t speak, can’t crawl and can’t sit on his own. He did not have a heartbeat when he was born, so the doctors had to revive him. He was in the incubator for 17 days and had an intracranial hemorrhage, which resulted in brain damage.

His epileptic seizures are manifested by twitches to the left side and blinking of the eyes and they stop after ten seconds. In addition to all of the above, he also suffers from GERD, which means that he vomits the food and water he consumes. This is an additional problem for his mother who takes care of him 24 hours a day.

The mother carries him or holds him by her side until her husband comes home from work because this boy’s balance center is disturbed. So far, they have tried everything to make their only child better, but they are unable to finance the stem cell transplant in Istanbul, which costs 19,000 euros. According to the doctor’s assessment, a stem cell transplant would improve his health by 50 to 70 percent.

Hamza belongs to the group of neurorisk children, and his diagnoses are, apart from epilepsy and GERD, encephalopathy, microcephaly and others. It’s too much of a diagnosis for anyone, but especially for a boy who will turn two in August.
