Increase in Number of New Coronavirus Cases in Sarajevo Canton

According to the data of the Public Health Institute of Canton Sarajevo, 184 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton last day, after laboratory testing of 1,008 samples.

In the same period, 188 people recovered from Covid-19 infection, while two people, unfortunately, died from the consequences of this disease.

“Currently, 212 patients are in hospital, of whom 194 have an acute infection, while the rest are post covid or under observation. The share of vaccinated persons in the number of hospitalized is 11.32 percent. 133 patients are being treated at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakas “79. There are seven patients on the respirator, 13 use non-invasive ventilation, while 13 of them are on oxygen support for breathing above 15 liters per minute”, the Institute states.

Today, Sarajevo Canton records 1,434 active cases of Covid-19 infection.

There are currently 2,962 people in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 59,558 people infected with coronavirus and 56,726 cured have been registered in Sarajevo Canton.

The Institute states that in the past seven days the average number of infected is 182, while the weekly incidence, ie the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 302.
