Increase in Number of Passengers, Vehicles and Goods over Border Crossings in BiH

In the fourth quarter of 2018, a total of 6.285.662 passengers went through border crossings in Bosnia and Herzegovina, country’s Agency for Statistics said in a report.

The structures of the total number of passengers who have entered to BiH is 38,3% of domestic passengers and 61,7% were foreign passengers.

In the fourth quarter of 2018, a total of 2.478.780 motor vehicles entered, report states, adding that 33,5% involved domestic vehicles, and 66,5% were foreign vehicles.

There were 10.207 freight motor vehicles that arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fourth quarter of 2018, which represents an increase of 8,8% in comparison with the fourth quarter of 2017.

In road cross-border traffic there were 519.297 tons of goods that entered in the fourth quarter of 2018 which was by 4,6% more compared with the fourth quarter of 2017.

There were 47.245 freight motor vehicles that exited from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fourth quarter of 2018. which represents an increase of 63,3% in comparison to the fourth quarter of 2017.

The number of transit freight motor vehicles on exit in the fourth quarter 2018 was 424.

In road cross-border traffic there were 1.099.011 tons of goods that exited in the fourth quarter of 2018, which was by 67,9% more than in the fourth quarter of the previous year.
