Increase in Tourists Arrivals to BiH in September

The total number of tourist arrivals in September 2019 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was 130,615, which is 10.3 percent more than in September 2018, and 20.1 percent less than in August this year.

The share of domestic tourists in the total number of arrivals was 17.9 percent and of foreign tourists 82.1 percent.

The total number of overnight stays in September 2019 was 242,092, which was 7.5 percent more than in September 2018, while it was 32.6 percent lower than in August 2019.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the highest number of overnight stays was realized within the category Hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 94 percent, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics.

In September, the highest overnight stays of foreign tourists were from: China (7.3 percent), Croatia (6.3 percent), Poland (6.3 percent), Germany (6.2 percent) and Turkey (5.5 percent), a total of 31.6 percent. Tourists from other countries accounted for 68.4 percent of overnight stays. The number of beds available in September 2019 in the FBiH was 32,914, which is 4.1 percent more than in September 2018.
