Increase of number of tourists

turisti-bihIn February this year in Bosnia and Herzegovina, tourists made ​​41,095 visits, which is 12.1 percent more than in January, and 25.9 percent more than in February 2012. According to the Agency for Statistics of BiH, tourists in February had spent 93,383 nights, which is 4.4 percent more than in January and 16.3 percent higher than in February 2012.

The participation of domestic tourists was 45.1 percent and 54.9 percent of foreign tourists in the total number of over-night stays

The largest number of tourists was from from Serbia, 28.5 percent, 20.2 percent Croatia, Slovenia 9.6 percent, for a total of 58.3 percent. Tourists from other countries accounted for 41.7 percent of the over-night stays.

On average tourist stayed for 2.3 days in Sarajevo. As for the length of stay of foreign tourists in BiH, in the first place are tourists from Ukraine with an average stay of 4.8 days, 4.7 days for Kuwait and Russia with 4.1 day.

According to the type of the object, the highest number of overnight stays was in hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 91.6 percent.

For the first two months of this year 77,749 visits were recorded , which is 9.5 percent more overnight stays and 182 789, which is 7.2 percent more than in the same period of 2012.
