Increase of Prices in Majority of Sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In March 2020, on average, price level decrease of 0,1%, was recorded.  By divisions of COICOP classification in March 2020 compared to previous month, price index decreased by 0,1%, according to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Agency for Statistics.

Higher prices in divisions of Food and non- alcoholic beverages, Alcoholic beverages, Clothing and footwear, Furniture and house appliances, Communications.

By divisions of COICOP classification, in March of 2020 as compared to the previous month, the price index increased in divisions of Food and non- alcoholic beverages by 0,5% , Alcoholic beverages by 0,2%, Clothing and footwear by 1,1%, Furniture and house appliances by 0,3%, Communications by 0,2%.

Lower prices in divisions of Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, Transport

By divisions of COICOP classification in March 2020 compared to previous month, the price index decreased in divisions of Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0,4% and Transport by 1,9%.

On annual level, on average, price levels increased by 0,1%.

The price level in March 2020 as compared to the same month of the previous year increased by 0,1%.

The average increase of prices was recorded in divisions of Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 1,0%, Alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 5,5%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuels by 0,7%, Health by 0,8%, Communications by 0,5%, Recreation and culture by 1,6%, Education by 0,1%, Restaurants and hotels by 2,3%.
