The Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), in accordance with its competences and legal norms, continuously updates security information with the aim of updating the security assessment on the basis of which the necessary measures and actions are taken to secure facilities and diplomatic missions in BiH.

Due to the current events and the escalation of the conflict between the states of Palestine and Israel, as well as the latest terrorist attacks in Belgium and France, the Directorate sent documents to the security agencies with the aim of collecting information and important findings for VIPs and facilities under its jurisdiction.

As explained by the Directorate in an interview with agency Fena, the level of security has been increased for all facilities of vital importance as well as facilities of diplomatic missions in BiH, and all police officers have been ordered to increase vigilance and caution when implementing security measures, as well as to proactively collect all information and knowledge relevant to the aforementioned.

Accordingly, the Directorate increased the level of security of the Embassy and the residence of the ambassador of the State of Palestine in BiH, and sent a request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Canton of Sarajevo to increase the presence of police officers near the mentioned facility.

In addition, the Directorate sent a dispatch to all security services in BiH, that for the purpose of protecting and preserving citizens as well as cultural and religious objects, they should increase the presence of police officers in localities where objects of importance for the Jewish and Palestinian communities in BiH are located.

Also, organizational units within the Directorate continuously work on data exchange with police liaison officers of foreign embassies, as well as exchange of information and operational knowledge between competent bodies in BiH and international criminal police organizations and members of INTERPOL.

”All of the above points to the complication of the general security situation both in the world and in BiH, the problem of which should be approached systematically and with the maximum dose of seriousness and responsibility, and all for the purpose of preventing potential security risks, the manifestation of which could have incalculable consequences for public security in BiH,” it was stated from the Directorate.

The Directorate will continue to collect and update security information and knowledge, and in accordance with a realistic security assessment, will adapt to the current security situation, and, in coordination with the competent security agencies, will take all necessary measures and actions to eliminate potential security risks, Federalna reports.
