A total of 77,217 voters are registered in the voter list for the forthcoming General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be held on October 4, in the Brčko District.
According to the data of the Election Commission of the Brčko District of BiH, of the total number of registered voters, 30,599 of them decided to vote for the Republika Srpska option, while 46,618 voters chose the Federation of BiH option.
The President of the Election Commission of the Brčko District of BiH, Marko Tadić, stated that the number of voters compared to the previous General Elections increased by approximately 4,000.
As he explained, the increase in the number of voters is mostly connected with the regulation of entity citizenship during the past four years.
At the beginning of the election campaign, the District Election Commission reminded political entities that they are obliged to respect the rules prescribed by the BiH Election Law. The control of the implementation of the campaign in the area of Brčko is carried out by the Election Commission of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina within its competences.
The general elections in BiH will be held on October 4, and the Brčko District represents a specific electoral environment this year as well, due to the possibility of voters, in accordance with their entity citizenship, to decide to vote for one of the entity options.
