The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Minister of Defense of BiH Zukan Helez met today with the Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany Boris Pistorius as part of his official visit to Berlin.

The interlocutors emphasized that the two countries have good friendly relations that should continue to be nurtured and strengthened. Proof of this, as Pistorius emphasized, is the visit of the German delegation to the BiH Ministry of Defense in February this year, the Ministry of Defense of BiH announced.

The economy, economy, civil society, bilateral cooperation, DCB (aid package for building defense capacities) were also discussed, and the good and continuous cooperation between the two ministries of defense and the armed forces was highlighted.

“The Federal Republic of Germany is a proven and reliable partner, which has been confirmed through various projects and initiatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a NATO member country and an EU country, a respectable partner on BiH’s path towards EU and NATO integration. Friendly FR Germany for a long time supports the development of our country’s institutions. To this end, this country provides significant funds for the development and equipping of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as significant assistance in the training of our members in the SR Germany. projects on the infrastructure facilities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The constant support that SR Germany provides to our country has made Bosnia and Herzegovina and SR Germany become friendly countries in the full sense of the word,” Helez said.

The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina emphasized that it is obvious that NATO leads an “open door policy”, which encourages Bosnia and Herzegovina to persist in integration through strengthening cooperation with NATO.

“Regarding the process of European integration, we had a significant breakthrough in the spring, when we were granted the conditional start of negotiations for membership, and the condition was 14 reform priorities. These are also the conditions for BiH to receive grants from the EU’s ‘Growth Plan’ for the Western of the Balkans, which would amount to 70 million euros for this year,” Helez said.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the control and protection of the airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the interlocutors agreed that the EU will provide assistance to our country in this area.

Helez presented Pistorius with the Flower of Srebrenica and an invitation to mark the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica and thanked the Federal Republic of Germany for voting for the Resolution on Srebrenica.
