Increased Number of Visitors to Bijambare and Vrelo Bosne

Vrelo Bosne Source NKP baEvery year, the number of visits to areas managed by the Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas of the Sarajevo Canton is continuously growing. Thus, visits to Bijambare and Vrelo Bosne got increased in the first five months of this year, in comparison to the same period in 2015, as confirmed from the Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas of the Sarajevo Canton.

According to ticket sales in the period January – May 2016, the area of Vrelo Bosne visited 58,812 tourist, while 17,305 tourists visited Bijambare. In the same period in 2015, Vrelo Bosne visited 54,962 tourists and 12,462 tourists visited Bijambare.

According to the Expert Associate for promotion and marketing in the Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas of the Sarajevo Canton, Mustafa Zvizdic, they do not have accurate records of visits regarding foreign and domestic tourists, but both groups are represented in respectable numbers.

“The areas we manage (Vrelo Bosne, Trebevic, Bijambare and Skakavac) are rich in exceptional and extraordinary natural values. The waterfall at Skakavac, Bijambare Cave and tourist train on Bijambare, Velika Aleja and lakes on Vrelo Bosne, beautiful scenery on Trebevic, paths, children’s playgrounds with equipment, are just some of the things you must see and experience,” said Zvizdic.

He added that this summer there is increase number of visitors, especially foreigners.
