Security measures in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been raised to a higher level after last night’s terrorist attacks in Paris, said the Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of B&H Mirsad Vilić.
“Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of B&H increased the security measures of both people and facilities. In this context, all police agencies in the country have been contacted, including the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA), with the aim of timely exchange of information and coordination of activities”, said Vilić.
Croatia, Italy and other countries have also announced increased security measures, and as Vilić highlighted, no country in the world can fight on its own against such events.
“We have increased duty capacities in order to ensure exchange of information with international police agencies such as Interpol and Europol and the police agencies in other countries”, Vilić said.
Vilić pointed out that police agencies in B&H have done a lot in the past period in terms of training, improving and equipping staff and equipment, and in terms of faster and more efficient police cooperation.
“Police agencies in B&H are at an enviable level. We are primarily ready and determined to preventively and repressively fight against terrorism and similar occurrences”, Vilić concluded.
