Indictment filed against 14 Persons in the ”Envelope” Case

The acting prosecutors of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office have filed an indictment against 14 individuals in the high-profile corruption case “Koverta”. The indictment was filed against Adna Mesihović, Dženita Viteškić, Ibrahim Obhođaš, Edna Pavić Pečenković, Muhamed Ajanović, Dalila Hakalović, Murat Ramadanović, Mersiha Šabaredžović Klačar, Jasminka Sijerčić, Maida Čohodar Husić, Lidija Zvačko Pehar, Dejan Milošević, Kasim Bajrović, Emina Kiseljaković.

They are charged with the criminal offenses of abuse of position or authority, receiving a reward or other form of benefit for trading in influence, and fraud in office.

In the indictment, prosecutors proposed the termination of Muhamed Ajanović’s detention and the imposition of prohibitive measures, namely a ban on performing the function of dean at the Faculty of Dentistry, a ban on visiting the Faculty of Dentistry, the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs of the Canton of Sarajevo and the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of the Canton of Sarajevo, a travel ban and a ban on contacting witnesses and suspects.

Also, in relation to Dalila Hakalović, a ban on performing the function of chief educational inspector of the KUIP, visiting the inspection building, the Faculty of Dentistry and meeting with witnesses and suspects was proposed.

Endi Pavić Pečenković was proposed a ban on performing the function of minister in the Canton of Sarajevo Government and a ban on meeting with witnesses and suspects. Dženita Viteškić was proposed a ban on performing the function of assistant minister for higher education and a ban on meeting with witnesses and suspects.

In relation to members of the Board of Directors of the University of Sarajevo, a ban on performing the function of the Board of Directors and meeting with witnesses and suspects was proposed.

The indictment was preceded by a complex investigation by the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office in cooperation with investigators from the Cantonal Police Directorate of the Cantonal Interior Ministry and the Cantonal Anti-Corruption Office, in accordance with the signed Memorandum on the Processing of Corruption Crimes. The indictment was forwarded to the Municipal Court in Sarajevo for confirmation, the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office announced.
