Consumer prices in Bosnia and Herzegovina in January of this year increased by an average of 0.9 percent compared to the previous month, while an annual growth of 3.6 percent was recorded.
In January, compared to December 2025, food and non-alcoholic beverages were on average more expensive by 1.6 percent, housing and overhead expenses by 1.5 percent, healthcare by 3.5 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 0.2 percent, recreation and culture by 0.4 percent, education by 0.3 percent, and restaurants and hotels by 0.4 percent, announced the BiH Statistics Agency.
The average price drop was recorded for clothing and footwear by 2.6 percent, and transportation by 1.2 percent.
Compared to January 2025, inflation was 3.6 percent, with the highest annual price growth on average in the following categories: restaurants and hotels by 7.2 percent, housing and overhead expenses by 7.1 percent, health by six percent, recreation and culture by five percent, and food and non-alcoholic beverages by 4.6 percent.
On an annual basis, the price of clothing and footwear decreased by 6.4 percent, and transportation by 2.3 percent.
