At a work meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Jasmin Duvnjak discussed with Selvedin Šatorović, the president of the Union of Primary Education and Upbringing, and the president of the Union of middle and higher education, science and culture of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Dževad Hadžić the possibilities of including learning about the genocide in Srebrenica in annual lesson plans and programs in primary and high schools.
It was said that this initiative can be implemented through methodology of the design of lesson plans of work and obligations in schools, as well as through lesson plans in subjects within which it can be learned about the genocide in Srebrenica.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the respecting of rights of constitutional peoples in the view of a group of national subjects, with a special emphasis on the fact that all students have the right to study and express themselves in their mother language – Bosnian, Serb, and Croatian.
Activities regarding studying about the genocide in Srebrenica will be discussed at the meeting which will be organized with the representatives of the relevant ministry and the Institute of Pedagogy, after which the initiative would be launched at the federal level as well.
