The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not support the SNSD initiative to dismiss Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković at today’s emergency session.

Five representatives were in favor, 20 against, and eight abstained.

This was the only item on the agenda.

In the explanation of the initiative, the SNSD stated that Konaković “with his statements and actions damaged the reputation of the institution he represents and called into question the basic values of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH”.

In particular, by making a statement insulting the RS Day, and calling for it to be declared a day of mourning in the Council of Ministers, as well as by sending personal diplomatic notes on behalf of the Ministry, Minister Konaković showed disrespect for the RS, its institutions and citizens – the explanation of the initiative states, among other things.

The president of the People and Justice party, Elmedin Konaković, said that there are no major disagreements with the HDZ BiH, but that for him the SNSD is no longer a partner. Souvenirs

Konaković said that he sees a way out in further changes in SNSD personnel and that the HDZ BiH will have to choose a side in the coming period.

“We do not have major disagreements with the HDZ, both at the level of the Federation of BiH and at the level of BiH, but we are not ready to sacrifice BiH’s European path because of their good relations with (SNSD president Milorad) Dodik. So, let everyone decide on the path they will take,” said Konaković.

He also emphasized that he has no problem with the opposition from Republika Srpska voting for his dismissal today, and that he is ready to cooperate with them “because of what they advocate for the future of BiH and the EU”.

When it comes to the dismissal of BiH Human Rights Minister Sevlid Hurtić, Konaković said that he had not had any discussions with the SDP, and that he would take a position on the matter after talks with the party’s president, Nermin Nikšić.

“We will discuss all options within the ‘Trojka’, if there is a reshuffle of the Council of Ministers, everything is possible, including someone leaving, everyone leaving, and everyone staying,” Konaković said.
