The story of the company B Krug d.o.o. from Livno can, at any time and in society, serve as an excellent example of how a good idea and a noble intention, along with a properly chosen business partner, usually result in success.
In the beginning, B Krug d.o.o. was engaged in the sale, distribution, and assembly of construction carpentry. In 2020, the owners decide to start independent production and, buy an old factory and renovate 3.000 square meters of space, acquire new machines, and introduce top production technologies. Today, it is a modern factory that exports most of its products to the European Union (EU) market and, in this highly competitive field, achieves outstanding results. The factory’s capacity is an impressive 160 window units for 8 hours of work. B Krug employs around 100 people and also operates through related, sister companies in Croatia and Germany.
“Over the course of three years, we increased the number of employees from 19 to 100”, explained the owner and director of B Krug d.o.o. Stipe Kristo, emphasizing the company’s strong commitment to be of service to the local community. “We strive to promote a positive business atmosphere, in order to encourage our fellow citizens to start returning from abroad,” says Kristo.
Bearing in mind that Livno is among the cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) that traditionally has the highest rate of young people leaving, this approach is not only worthy of praise but also a bright example of the engaged participation of a business entity in the development of the local community. That this is not a matter of declarative commitment is shown by the fact that B Krug, through various projects, workshops, and advocacy for dual education, encourages high school students to start and nurture their careers in BiH. In addition to this, Stipe Kristo is also on the Board of Directors of the technology park/incubator Linnovate, which promotes newly established businesses, startup companies, and the development and education of young people through various workshops of the technology park.
Dual education, by which young people would have the opportunity to gain practical experience while still in formal education, is a model that ProCredit Bank and B Krug jointly support, sharing the belief that it is one of the mechanisms that will provide young people with the opportunity to get a job immediately after graduation. ProCredit Bank, with which B Krug has been cooperating since 2019, is a partner that firmly believes in the correctness of such beliefs. A large number of machines used in production were financed with ECO loans, at a high percentage of 75%, which consequently influenced the development of B Krug in all segments.

In addition to these companies, there are numerous other examples that prove how brave ideas with the right partnerships and support can overcome logistical obstacles and outgrow the frameworks in which they are created.
“We believe that inspiration comes from within ourselves and that we can find great examples of it on almost every kilometer of the country. We want to promote these positive examples and contribute to the creation of a new wave of enthusiasm for existing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) but also encourage the generation of some new business projects and ideas. MSMEs are the basis of BiH’s economic prosperity and we unreservedly believe in them,” emphasized Ines Amitovic, director of the Department for Sustainable Development and Communications, Biznis Info reports.
