Institute issues A Red Weather alert due to high Temperatures in BiH

Due to extremely high daily temperatures in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, except in mountainous areas, the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute (FHMZ) of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued a red warning.

The red weather alert will be in effect from August 12 to 14 for the period from 12:00 to 17:00, because the maximum daily air temperature will be between 35 and 40 degrees, locally in the south, north and central areas up to 42 degrees Celsius.

Today in Bosnia and Herzegovina it is sunny and hot, with a weak north and northeast wind. Daily temperature from 32 to 38, in the south up to 40 degrees Celsius.

The air temperatures measured at 8 o’clock were: Bjelašnica 12; Sokolac 14; Srebrenica 16; Bugojno 17; Prijedor, Sarajevo, Široki Brijeg 18; Bihać, Sanski Most 19; Banja Luka, Doboj, Livno, Zenica 20; Tuzla 21; Bijeljina 23; Trebinje 26; Gradačac 27; Neum 28; Mostar 30 degrees Celsius.

Monday will be sunny and hot. The wind in Herzegovina is weak to moderate south-westerly, and in Bosnia east and north-easterly. Morning air temperature from 18 to 24, in the south up to 28, and daytime from 34 to 40 degrees.

On Tuesday, it will be sunny and hot with little cloud cover. The wind is weak in Herzegovina, south-west, and in Bosnia, north and north-east. Morning air temperature from 19 to 25, in the south to 28, and daytime from 34 to 40, locally in the south and north of the country up to 42 degrees.

Sunny and hot weather is forecast for Wednesday. In the afternoon, a moderate increase in cloud cover in Bosnia may cause local showers. The wind is weak in Herzegovina, south-west, and in Bosnia, east and north-east. Morning air temperature from 20 to 26, in the south up to 28, and daytime from 35 to 41 degrees Celsius.

Thursday is expected to be sunny and hot with little to moderate cloud cover. Local showers are possible in the afternoon in the higher areas of Bosnia. Wind weak with changing direction. Morning air temperature from 18 to 24, in the south to 28, and daytime from 33 to 38, in the south and north of the country up to 40 degrees.
