covic-cormackCroat member of the Presidency of BiH Dr. Dragan Čović held a meeting with the Ambassador of the United States of America to BiH Maureen Cormack.

During the meeting, Čović and Cormack spoke about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Čović informed the Ambassador Cormack about the upcoming activities aimed at obtaining the candidate status for membership in the EU by the end of 2017, in accordance with the Master Plan of the Presidency of BiH.

Interlocutors agreed that in addition to a clear focus on the future it is necessary to work on the BiH integration into the EU with an increased intensity. This requires respecting the clearly defined dynamics for implementation of obligations through close cooperation between all levels of authority, especially within the established coordination mechanism.

Furthermore, Čović informed the Ambassador Cormack about activities in the context of the inevitable reform of the Election Law.

Ambassador Cormack expressed full support from the USA for these processes and support for the strengthening of internal political dialogue in the country.

At the end of the meeting, Čović thanked the Ambassador Cormack for the support that her country is providing BiH on its Euro-Atlantic path.
