International Air Arrivals to Sarajevo this Winter Season will be 25 Percent higher

International air arrivals to Sarajevo this winter season are expected to be 25 percent higher than before the coronavirus pandemic, i.e. the record year 2019, ForwardKeys analysis showed.

“Legally, we are not able to comment on the absolute numbers of arrivals to a certain destination. Specifically, in this analysis, we compare the number of tickets purchased until today for arrivals in the period December 2023 – February 2024 with the same data for December 2018 – February 2019,” said Ema Mandal, an expert at the Spanish tourism company ForwardKeys in a request from Fena news agency.

She pointed out that of all arrivals to the entire Balkan Peninsula, four percent are expected to be in Sarajevo, while before the pandemic that share was three percent.

“I would say that it is quite a good share, taking into account that Athens is also included in the analysis, where the number of connected destinations is immeasurably higher,” said Mandal.

Speaking about the countries from which the most arrivals to the capital of BiH are expected, Mandal pointed out that Germany and Switzerland are at the top of the list, which is not surprising considering the large number of BiH. of the diaspora living in those countries.

“However, America also occupies a very high position this year and, moreover, 78 percent more arrivals from the United States are expected than in 2018 and 2019. Arrivals from Denmark are also on the rise, where this year we expect twice as many tourists as before the pandemic, while we expect 28 percent more arrivals from Great Britain,” said Mandal.
