Situation at the Fire Site near Bosansko Grahovo is stable after the Rain

The situation at the fire in the Bosanski Grahovo area is currently stable after the rain that hit the area during the night, confirmed Marino Vidović from the Civil Protection of the Herceg-Bosnia County to Feni.

According to him, the precipitation has significantly helped to calm the fire, especially in parts of the terrain where the situation was most difficult in previous days.

“The rain that fell during the night helped a lot and the situation has stabilized. There is still smoke in some places, which is why teams are visiting the fire site and continuing to monitor the situation,” said Vidović.

He added that a complete picture of the situation in all parts of the fire site is not yet available because it is a large and difficult-to-see area.

“Teams are still on patrol and checking the terrain. For now, the situation is stable, but we will continue to monitor the situation until we receive information from all parts of the fire site,” said Vidović.

The fire in the Bosanski Grahovo area has been active for more than two weeks, and has affected a large and difficult-to-access area towards Dinara. At one point, the fire line was over 15 kilometers long.

Civil protection, forestry and fire brigade personnel have been involved in extinguishing the fire in recent days, while assistance has also been provided from the air. Due to the inaccessibility of the terrain, some teams have also worked on breaking through and arranging access roads to prevent the fire from spreading further.
