VilsonovoVilsonovo promenade will soon be closed for the traffic, and will entirely be the pedestrian zone. This area is closed for the traffic every day after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends, but the intention is to completely return this promenade to citizens of Sarajevo who are enjoying in walks there.

As said from the Municipality Novo Sarajevo, as soon as conditions for unburdening of the traffic are created, municipality will, according to the Ministry of Transport of Canton Sarajevo, launch an initiative to close the street Vilsonovo promenade for the motor traffic.

“The reason why the Municipality Novo Sarajevo decided on this step is striving to make this promenade entirely pedestrian one and an oasis for relaxation and recreation, but also to reduce the emission of exhaust gases of motor vehicles in order to preserve trees and vegetation on this area. The final decision on the closing of traffic on the Vilsonovo promenade will bring the Ministry of Transport of Canton Sarajevo“, as said in the press service of the Municipality Novo Sarajevo.

The Minister of Transport in Canton Sarajevo, Jusuf Bubica, said earlier for klix.ba that the Ministry of Transport of CS will approve the closure of Vilsonovo promenade for vehicles as soon as conditions are met.

With the construction of the South longitudinal, it is working on unburdening of the traffic in the area of Grbavica and resorts around Vilsonovo promenade, so it is real to expect for this promenade to become entirely pedestrian zone.
