An international Conference titled “Srebrenica 1995-2015” to be held

protesti_srebreničanke-620x330An international conference titled “Srebrenica 1995-2015: Evaluation of heritage and long-term consequences of genocide”, will be held from 9 to 11 July in Sarajevo, Tuzla and Srebrenica (Potočari).

The conference is organized by the Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law, of the University of Sarajevo in cooperation with the Potočari Memorial Center – and the University of Tuzla.

Raisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein effendi Kavazović today got informed about the preparations for this conference and its contents at the meeting with Dr. Rasim Muratović, director of the Institute and Dr. Nirha Efendić and Mr. Hasan Nuhanovic, members of the Conference Organizing Committee.

Rais Kavazović extended his support to the organization of this conference and stressed the importance of remembrance of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide.

He informed the guests that the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina shall organize an international scientific conference on 12 and 13 May, which should give an answer to the question of how to mark the Day of the Srebrenica Genocide in the future from the religious aspect.
