To mark the 15th of October – International Day of the Blind People, the Association of the Blind People in Canton of Sarajevo (CS), in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of CS organizes a roundtable on the topic: “The Position of the Blind in Sarajevo Canton, Present State and Perspectives”.
The roundtable will discuss: improving partnerships between the Association and government institutions, ways to support organizations of persons with disabilities by government institutions in Sarajevo Canton, the position of blind people in CS, and other issues related to the implementation of the Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities and the Action Plan.
The aim is to motivate the competent ministries, the City and the municipalities to begin a more effective implementation of the federal Strategy for the Advancement of the Rights and Situation of Persons with Disabilities, and thus the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
This activity is being implemented within projects and organizations of the blind in the Federation of BiH through education, advocacy and awareness raising, which is financially supported by MyRight from Sweden.
