Today at Camp Butmir, COM EUFOR Major General Florin Marian Barbu and EUFOR staff attended an international medal parade honouring around 270 personnel from eight nations (Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, and Türkiye).

Each recipient was awarded the European Union Common Security and Defence Policy Medal for Operation Althea, recognizing their dedicated service under UNSCR 2795, adopted on 31 October 2025.

The medal, suspended from an EU blue ribbon with a central gold or silver stripe, features twelve five pointed stars symbolizing the European Union. On its reverse, the Latin inscription “Pro Pace Unum” — “United for Peace” — reflects the very spirit of our mission.

Congratulations to all medal recipients!
