FBiH Meteorological Institute, as a part of their regular activities has rehabilitated the International Phenology Garden in Ivan-Sedlo, and the money given by UNDP-GEF Karst Project and in that way BiH is now a part of the network of International Phenology gardens in Europe, which is coordinated by Humboldt University from Berlin.

Manager of FBiH Meteorological Institute Nedžad Voljevica said that during several years they’ll monitor 17 plant species which were donated by Germany.

He noted that Phenology is the study of periodic plant and animal life cycle events and how these are influenced by seasonal and interannual variations in climate, as well as habitat factors (such as elevation).

He added that the location in Ivan-sedlo is very good because it is on border of two different climates.
