Inzko Visited Bratunac and Srebrenica

The High Representative for BiH Valentin Inzko visited the municipalities of Bratunac and Srebrenica today, where he spoke with the leaders and of these municipalities.

During his visit to Bratunac, Inzko visited for the first time the cemetery “Veljaci”, and with the mayor of the municipality Nedjeljko Mlađenović he spoke about the activities in the municipality, the economic situation and employment.

“It is important to work on economic recovery in this municipality. There has been progress every year, and I hope that there will be progress this year as well’’, said the high representative to BiH.

The mayor of Bratunac Nedjeljko Mlađenović said that the meeting was very beneficial and that it is the manifestation of long-term cooperation between OHR and municipality Bratunac.

“With the help of the citizens of Serbian and Bosniak nationalities and religious communities, we have overcome many of the problems, and it best portrays today’s co-existence regardless of the tragedies that have occurred in this region’’, said mayor Mlađenović for Fena.

He said that at the meeting with the high representative they spoke of the economic situation in this area, which was not the best and there has to be new meetings in order to attract investors to Bratunac and Srebrenica so that life can improve here.

Also, they spoke about the equal employment of Serbs and Bosniaks in Bratunac.

In the afternoon, Inzko visited the memorial center in Potočari, where he laid flowers and spoke with representatives of the Association of “Mothers of Srebrenica”. Afterwards, he met with the mayor of Srebrenica Ćamil Duraković and the President of the Assembly of Srebrenica municipality Radomir Pavlović.
