Iran threatens to completely close the Strait of Hormuz if Trump carries out his Threats

In a new statement, the IRGC said Iran would completely close the Strait of Hormuz if Trump continued with threats to target Iranian energy facilities.

The IRGC was quoted as saying that companies with US shares would be “completely destroyed” if Washington attacked Iranian energy facilities, adding that energy infrastructure in countries hosting US bases would be “legitimate” targets.

“We will not start a war, but we will fight to defend our country”

The IRGC statement said: “We did not start a war and we will not start one now, but if the enemy harms our power plants, we will do everything to defend our country and the interests of our people.”

Iran has already effectively closed the vital route, although a small number of ships from friendly countries have been able to pass through it.

The Strait of Hormuz, which carries a fifth of global oil, a fifth of LNG shipments and a third of the most widely used fertilizers, has already led to a surge in global energy prices, including in the United States, where consumers have been hit by price increases.
