Iranians interested in the Import of B&H Oil

Export to Iran sputniknews.comAfter the lifting of sanctions for Iran, there is a great interest of countries to clear the path for their companies to this enormous market of around 80 million people.

Some companies from neighboring countries have already managed to make deals with Iran, based on the relations they had with Iran prior to sanctions. The Croatian company Hittner already started exporting their cultivators and Slovenia is busy preparing for establishment of connections.

Although a large number of B&H companies such as Evergoinvest did business on this market during the former Yugoslavia, reconnection with this market is necessary. That was the aim of the recent visit of the delegation of B&H led by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations and the Foreign Trade Chamber, who visited Iran together with representatives of ten B&H companies.

What their market is interested in is, allegedly, edible oil. Given that Iran imports one million tons of edible oil annually, there is an opportunity for connecting with B&H producers.

According to the vice-president of the Foreign Trade Chamber of B&H Ahmet Egrlić, Bosnia and Herzegovina can also seek for an opportunity to export to Iran in the metal industry sector, precisely in automotive and machine industry, which is traditionally the most important sector in B&H which makes up 35 percent of B&H export.

“There is also a significant need for the import of food products (especially oil and sugar) in Iran. B&H can also respond to this demand, as well as to the demand for products of packaging and paper industry,” Egrlić said.
